Samples of my work in Archives:
Coming soon: Finding aids written for The Museum of Flight.
I currently volunteer for the Ballard Historical Society here in Seattle. I am digitizing all of their photographs and rewriting the metadata, and everything is being posted to an Omeka site that just recently went live. We have also been posting images to HistoryPin.
I recently spent time as the Archivist for the Washington County Museum. One of my major projects was to increase accessibility to the library and archives, which includes posting finding aids online. The finished finding aids can be viewed here.
I recently wrapped up work as the Project Manager for a grant-funded photo and text digitization project. The project is Washington County Heritage Online. The project is a county-wide effort to digitize and make accessible thousands of historic photos and text items that depict the history and heritage of Washington County, Oregon. The training manual and standards guide for WCHO can be viewed here: WCHOmanual_09072012.
While working at the Pacific University Archives, I was also able to write a few finding aids in Archivist’s Toolkit and help the Archives contribute to the Northwest Digital Archives:
Mexican War Pension Records: another intern and I wrote the metadata for this project, which described letters from Mexican War veterans to the State of New York. The final product is visible here: Pension Claims of First N.Y. Regiment Volunteers
